How do I choose which treatments are best for me?
Here at Awaken Clinic we offer a free consultation to discuss your individual concerns and the best treatment options for you. You may be worried about loss of skin volume, wrinkles, fine lines, your skin may look dull and dehydrated, you may have hyperpigmentation, scarring, you may wish to create more symmetry, or there may be a combination of issues.
Will the results look natural?
The majority of our clients are looking to enhance their natural beauty and delay the signs of ageing without dramatically changing their appearance. Our aim is to create discreet and subtle changes, using non-surgical treatments, to support the unique structure of each individual’s face.
Do facial aesthetics treatments hurt?
Generally speaking, facial aesthetics treatments are comfortable and cause minimal pain. Wrinkle-reducing injections are administered using very fine needles. Topical anaesthetic and local anaesthesia can be administered to help with pain control for other procedures.
Are facial aesthetic treatments safe?
Facial aesthetic treatments are generally safe. However, as with all medical treatments and procedures, there are potential side effects and risks. This is why we believe that our procedures should be agreed at consultation and subsequently administered by a trained and experienced medical professional.
Who is a good candidate for facial aesthetics?
Healthy adults with realistic expectations, who may be bothered by the signs of ageing, or who might wish to minimise the effect of an on-going condition, or who are looking to enhance a specific facial feature are good candidates.
How long will my appointment take?
Wrinkle-relaxing injections typically take about 30 minutes, whereas Dermal fillers may take one to two hours. Your expectations will be clarified and confirmed during your initial appointment.
When will I see the results of my treatment?
Anti-wrinkle injections usually start to take effect in 3 to 7 days, with full effect seen at 3 to 4 weeks. Results last for 3 to 4 months. With Dermal fillers, the results are immediate, and can take up to 6 weeks to fully integrate. They can last for 6 to 18 months. Treatments that stimulate collagen and elastin production, for example Microneedling, Cutis Lift, Profhilo, Polynucleotides, Sunekos, and Exosomes will take from 6 weeks to 3 months to see the effects and a course is recommended.
For how long will these results last?
This is a hard question. The answer will depend on a number of factors: the type of treatment; the product used; and individual metabolism and lifestyle.
Is it okay to have a facial before wrinkle-relaxing injections?
Yes, it’s fine to have a facial treatment before relaxing injections. However, we would advise against facials for at least 2 weeks after most treatments. That said, we will always give you detailed aftercare instructions.
How much do treatments cost?
The cost of each bespoke treatment will vary according to the type of procedure, the amount of product required, and the individual being treated. Prices will be discussed during the consultation process.
What is the downtime for treatments?
This will depend on the nature of the treatment administered and will be discussed at the consultation. Generally, make-up and strong exercise should be avoided for 12 to 24 hours as, with all injectables, there can be a risk of swelling and bruising.
Will my face be swollen and bruised after treatment?
This depends on which treatment you have. Facial aesthetics treatments can cause slight redness, swelling and bruising (particularly at injection sites) but this usually self-resolves within 24 to 48 hours.
